Just a few moments after United took the lead, the Brazilian was seen holding his right leg while sitting on the pitch. United's medical team attended to the £62.5million forward, and after a preliminary diagnosis, he went back to the dressing room straight through the tunnel.
Matheus Cunha Suffers Injury Against Burnley
He appeared to have pulled a muscle, and Ruben Amorim didn't take any risk before unleashing Joshua Zirkzee from the bench. The Red Devils are leading by one goal at the break and should have had at least a couple more goals. They are yet to lodge a single win this season, and the defeat against Grimsby Town has further deepened the crisis.
A two-week international break might just come at the right time, as United's medical team can assess the situation ahead of the crucial Manchester derby on September 14. Amorim is likely to address the issue during the post-match press conference later today. United overhauled their attacking department this summer with the addition of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.
