Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT: Tamil Nadu Government Permits Film's Special Screening On Release Day

Thalapathy Vijay's much-awaited film The Greatest of All Time aka GOAT is all set to roar onto screens on September 5, 2024. The movie is directed by Venkat Prabhu with the plot following raw agent adventures while setting the stage for a thriller action drama. As fans eagerly await the film's release, the Tamil Nadu government has given them a special treat by allowing a one-off special show, adding to the excitement and hype surrounding GOAT's big-screen debut tomorrow.

The Tamil Nadu government granted permission to hold one special show for Thalapathy Vijay

AGS Entertainment Private Limited, the production house behind GOAT, requested the Tamil Nadu government to allow a special screening on September 5 and 6. The government approved the request, permitting only one special show for the Thalapathy Vijay film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) on September 5. The order stipulates that all theatres can host just one special show, starting at 9 am and ending at 2 am, with a maximum of five shows per day. While the first screening in Tamil Nadu begins at 9 am, the First Day First Show (FDFS) of GOAT will start as early as 4 am in Kerala, Karnataka, and the USA, and at 6 am in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Considering the request, the Commissioner of Revenue Administration advised that due to the extended special screenings, theatres should make proper arrangements with police cooperation to ensure public health and prevent overcrowding.

AGS CEO Archana Kalpathi took to X (formerly Twitter) to express gratitude, sharing the government order and saying, “A big thank you to our Tamil Nadu Government and @Udhaystalin for granting special shows, extending show times, and continuously supporting cinema.”

Fans are now buzzing with excitement for the major release. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT  is an action drama featuring Vijay in dual roles. The film also stars Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Mohan, Ajmal Ameer, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Premgi Amaren in significant roles. Venkat Prabhu, Ezhilarasu Gunasekaran, and K Chandru co-wrote the screenplay. Moreover, there are reports suggesting MS Dhoni might appear in a cameo role.
