In a major step in the probe into the 2023 attack at the Indian High Commission in London, the NIA on Thursday charge-sheeted a key accused in the incident, an official statement said.
The charge sheet was filed in a special NIA court in Delhi.
Inderpal Singh Gaba, a UK national residing in Hounslow and originally hailing from New Delhi, was charge-sheeted as one of the agitators who actively participated in the anti-India protest on March 22, 2023, in front of the Indian High Commission in London, as part of the Khalistani secessionist agenda, it said.
The accused was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on April 25 after exhaustive investigations that established his role in the secessionist activity.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has appointed contractors for nine infrastructure projects worth Rs 12,500 crore in and around Mumbai, including the extension of the Eastern Freeway up to Thane.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday left for home after concluding his two-nation visit to Brunei and Singapore during which he held wide-ranging discussions with the top leadership of both countries to build upon the historic ties, strengthen the partnership and attract investment from the two Southeast Asian nations.
"A successful visit concludes! PM @narendramodi emplanes for New Delhi after an outcome oriented visit to Singapore," the Ministry of External Affairs posted on X.
Taking to X, Modi said his visit to Singapore has been a "very fruitful one".

Modi was in the city-state at the invitation of his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong.
During his two-day visit, India and Singapore elevated their bilateral ties to a "comprehensive strategic partnership" and signed four MoUs, including on cooperation in semiconductors.
Moderate rains were witnessed in few parts of the state since Wednesday evening forcing closure of 70 roads for vehicular traffic in Himachal Pradesh, officials said on Thursday.

Around 30 teachers were detained by the police from Central Delhi's Mandi House area as they gathered there to take part in the unity march against several issues including NEP 2020, paper leak, and scuttling of reservations in educational institutes.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday sought the stand of the CBI on the bail pleas of jailed co-owners of the Old Rajinder Nagar coaching centre basement, where three civil services aspirants died after drowning in July. Six people were killed in Rajasthan's Sriganganagar district when a car rammed into two motorcycles, police said on Thursday.
