The much-awaited start of the Indian Premier League is just one sleep away. Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are all set to lock horns with each other in the IPL 2025 opener. Kolkata Knight Riders, who look very determined to defend their IPL crown, will have to outplay a batting-heavy Royal Challengers Bengaluru at their fortress, the iconic Eden Gardens. The Kolkata-based franchise have always looked like a formidable side against Bengaluru, but a new season brings in new challenges. Both Kolkata and Bengaluru will have new captains in IPL 2025. Rajat Patidar will lead RCB, whereas Ajinkya Rahane has been bestowed with the responsibility of leading the defending champions.
There is a rain threat to the KKR vs RCB IPL 2025 opener, but the fans of both sides will expect that they get a full game.
Virat Kohli and Rinku Singh grabbed a lot of eyeballs during IPL 2024. Last year, a video went viral where Rinku Singh was asking the former India captain to lend him a bat. The video also showcased Virat being shocked by the fact that Rinku broke his bat while facing a spinner.
Much ahead of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Kolkata Knight Riders clash, Virat stopped by the KKR camp and met his Indian teammates Rinku Singh and Harshit Rana. Kolkata Knight Riders posted the video on their official social media account, and it attracted a lot of funny reactions. The netizens recalled how Rinku Singh asked Virat Kohli to lend him a bat during IPL 2024.
Rinku Singh has played the role of a designated opener for Kolkata Knight Riders for quite some time now. Singh suddenly became a household name after smashing Yash Dayal for five sixes in IPL 2023. Rinku had scored a total of 474 runs from 14 matches, but he couldn't replicate his heroics in 2024.
Last year, Rinku managed to score only 168 runs from 15 games that he played. The southpaw will now want to make a strong comeback in the eighteenth season of the IPL and help his franchise win their fourth title.
