Brian Lara Expects Yashasvi Jaiswal to Shine When India Visits Australia for BGT

While speaking to the media during the launch of the International Masters League, Brian Lara heaped laurels on Yashasvi Jaiswal and believes that he has been well built to play in any conditions. But before heading down under, the Windies Great claimed he needed to make some developments regarding the mental aspect when Team India competes in the border Gavaskar Trophy Series against Australia.

"He has got the ability to play in any conditions. I saw him in the Caribbean. Obviously, the pitches in Australia are slightly different, but if you take that sort of strength that you have, you're going to play good cricket in any conditions. I expect to see him do well.

"I think the adjustment is upstairs. The adjustment is your ability to back your talent in whatever conditions. I say this with a pinch of salt because conditions in India have changed. With the IPL , you've got international players coming. You are feeding your players a different level of competition, which is great, so I don't think there's much that he has to do technically," Brian Lara said.

With 929 runs at 66.35 in just eight matches this year, India's Yashasvi Jaiswal has solidified his position as an important member of the National Test team. His two centuries and six fifties will rank him as India's top run scorer in 2024. Alongside Abhishek Sharma, his strong batting abilities have earned him the title of "most exciting Indian batter," and Brian Lara praises their elegant attacking strategy.

"Jaiswal and Abhishek Sharma. First of all, they're left-handers. They're very young. They play the game in a style, very attacking and very stylish," Lara added.
