Champions Trophy 2025: Team India won the Champions Trophy 2025 after defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the Final clash on March 9 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Men in Blue stayed unbeaten throughout the tournament to get their hands on the prestigious silverware.
India Achieve Elusive Record In Champions Trophy
With the four-wicket triumph, the Men in Blue went past Australia to achieve an elusive feat in the history of the Champions Trophy. Team India won the most number of Champion Trophy titles, clinching it three times. Prior to 2025's victory, the Men in Blue won it in the 2013 and 2002 editions. On the other hand, the Aussies sealed the Champions Trophy titles two times, in 2006 and 2009.
Apart from the two cricket giants, New Zealand (2000), South Africa (1998), West Indies (2004), and Pakistan (2017) won the Champions Trophy title just once.

The Men in Blue started their 2025 Champions Trophy campaign with a six-wicket victory over Bangladesh on February 20. Following, Rohit's side faced their arch-rivals Pakistan in the 15-match tournament. In the most-anticipated clash of the tournament by six wickets in Dubai. In their final group stage match, India sealed a 44-run win over the Black Caps. In the semi-final, the Men in Blue sealed a four-wicket win over Australia and confirmed their spot in the final.

Recapping India's Four-Wicket Win Over New Zealand
Summarizing the final match of the Champions Trophy 2025, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat against India. However, Kiwi skipper Mitchell Santner's decision didn't go in their favour.
Daryl Mitchell (63) and Michael Bracewell (53*) were the top run scorers for the Black Caps, which propelled them to 251/7. Rachin Ravindra (37) and Glenn Phillips (34) also played a crucial knock in the first inning.
Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav led the Indian bowling attack with their two-wicket hauls. Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja also picked up one wicket each in their respective spells.
During the chase, Rohit Sharma 's fiery performance boosted the Men in Blue's confidence. Rohit and Shubman Gill cemented an opening partnership of 105 runs. In the middle order, Shreyas Iyer (48) and Axar Patel (29) kept their nerves calm to help Team India inch closer to the target. KL Rahul (34*) and Ravindra Jadeja (9*) stayed unbeaten on the crease till end and sealed a four-wicket win over New Zealand in the final.
Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell led the Kiwi bowling attack with their two wicket hauls, but it was not enough to help them win the summit clash.
