One month of Israel Hamas' deadliest encounter

Israelis are marking the one-month point as a day of mourning over the attack, in which more than 1,400 people were killed and some 240 were taken hostage. The 30th day is a milestone in the timeline of Jewish mourning. Memorial events are scheduled to be held in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem later in the day. The four-week war triggered by the attack has displaced about 1.5 million people across Gaza, according to U.N. figures. More than 10,000 people were reportedly killed by Israeli airstrikes with 40% of them children. The Israel Hamas war began on Oct 7 after Hamas militants broke through a highly protected fence and killed many Israelis. Since then Israel too has intensifies its crackdown on Hamas militants. They have been targeting Hamas hideouts in the Gaza Strip. Hamas however has been using civilians to shield themselves and preventing them from evacuating to safer locations. It has been over 20 days since the war began and both the sides are continuing airstrikes. It remains to be seen if, when and how this war concludes. Israel is now preparing for a possible ground invasion in the Gaza Strip. The war has attracted global attension.
