Prime Minister Narendra Modi while delivering his keynote address at the inaugural event of the 141st International Olympic Committee Session confirmed India’s bid to host the 2036 Olympics games. "India is eager to organise the Olympics in the country. India will leave no stone unturned in the preparation for the successful organisation of the Olympics in 2036, this is the dream of the 140 crore Indians,” said the PM. he even added that before hosting the 2036 Olympics, India is even keen on organising the 2029 youth Olympics. He went ahead and said that - India is capable of organising all the major events down to its good infrastructure and other facilities which was evident during India's G20 Presidency in 2023
