The ‘dolls’ became widely popular on TikTok and Instagram. These dolls adorned the bags of the celebrities and the affluent. The dolls are produced by the Chinese toy company Pop Mart.

According to Forbes, Labubu dolls typically cost between $20 and $30 and are sold in "blind boxes," where buyers only discover the specific variant after opening. The hashtag #labubu became the top trend on social media with over 1 million posts globally.
