After Champions Trophy Fans Set For More Cricket Action As Three Indo-Pak Matches Planned In Asia Cup, Dates Revealed: Report

An India vs Pakistan tie has always exceeded expectations. In the Champions Trophy 2025, India decimated Pakistan by six wickets in Dubai to maintain their upper hand over their archrivals.

More Indo-Pak Matches This Year

Amid the Champions Trophy buzz, fans could be up for more action as many as three Indo-Pak ties could be lined up in this year as per Cricbuzz. The report stated, India could face Pakistan thrice in the Asia Cup later this year as the Asian Cricket Council has blocked the September month for the tournament, which will be played in the T20 format this time.

Given the Champions Trophy fiasco, ACC has decided to host the tournament in a neutral venue to avoid any further tussle. As per Cricbuzz, BCCI will host the Asia Cup 2025 but either UAE or Sri Lanka will get the rights to conduct the continental competition. The report said, “A key recent decision of the ACC was that the tournament be held in a neutral country when it is the turn of either the BCCI or the PCB to stage it. The Men In Blue are currently involved in the Champions Trophy and are playing all of their matches in Dubai while the remaining tournament is being hosted by Pakistan. BCCI refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan and a hybrid model was accepted by both the countries. Pakistan have already been eliminated from the Champions Trophy while India became the first team to qualify for the semifinal.

More Asia Cups In the Pipeline Until 2031

The report also mentioned that until 2031, four Asia Cups are slated to be held. After the 2025 edition, Bangladesh are designated to conduct the 2027 edition (ODI format) while the next edition (T20 format) will be conducted at a neutral venue as PCB has been given the responsibility to host the tournament. Sri Lanka will host the 2031 edition, which will be played in the limited over format.
