Clashes along the Lebanon-Israel border between Hezbollah and Israel intensified on Sunday afternoon leaving at least one Hezbollah militant dead. Lebanon's state-run National News Agency said that an Israeli drone attack struck the southeastern Lebanese border town of Mays al-Jabal, wounding two. It added that heavy missiles were launched from Lebanon towards Northern Israel and that Israeli forces responded with artillery. The militant group Hezbollah, Hamas’ allies in Lebanon, has clashed with Israeli troops along the Lebanon-Israeli border since the Gaza war erupted on Oct. 7. The skirmishes have remained relatively contained and mostly along a handful of border towns. Hezbollah has vowed to escalate if Israel begins a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip, which is likely, and Israel said it would aggressively retaliate. Israel sees Iran-backed Hezbollah as its most serious threat, estimating it has some 150,000 rockets and missiles aimed at Israel.
