Donald Trump Says, 'If I were President, Israel would not have been attacked'
Donald Trump said Tuesday the Hamas attack on Israel would not have happened under his watch as president.
Speaking to reporters during a break in his civil trial in New York, the former US president said “the world right now is a mess.”
Earlier, the U.S. vetoed a U.N. resolution Wednesday to condemn all violence against civilians in the Israel-Hamas war and to urge humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, saying it was too early to craft an appropriate Security Council response to the crisis.
Asked if he planned a visit to Israel, Trump said it was possible.
And on the Republicans search for a successor to Kevin McCarthy as House speaker, he said “we'll see what happens.”
Trump ally Rep. Jim Jordan has so far failed to get the needed votes to become House Speaker.
