'What exactly are Israel's objectives?'

Republican presidential candidate and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy is criticizing U.S. politicians who have declared support for Israel in its war against Hamas militants in Gaza before hearing how Israelis define victory.

Ramaswamy says that, as president, he will want to ask the Israeli leadership and Benjamin Netanyahu to clearly define their views on victory and share lessons that the United States has learned from its war against terrorism.

Still, Ramaswamy says he is keen to ensure that Israel is able to defend itself against enemies who threaten its very existence.

He was speaking after signing his declaration for presidential candidacy in New Hampshire.

The move ensures that his name appears on the ballot in the Republican party primary next February.

Ramaswamy used the platform to hit out at rival Nikki Haley, claiming that her hawkish policies will lead to World War Three.

Haley, who was Trump's ambassador to the United Nations, has emerged as the representative for the GOP’s old guard, calling for the “the end" of Hamas and an aggressive response to Israel's enemies, including Iran.

On the other side among her 2024 rivals, Ramaswamy and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, backed by conservative media personality Tucker Carlson, favor a more cautious “America First” approach.

Trump, the front-runner in the Republican primary, has confused the issue with an inconsistent message fueled by personal grievance.
