From Streets To A Loving Home: Jaya's Journey

This is the story of Jaya, an Indian native pariah dog who lived on the streets of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. She is now all set to go to a loving home in Netherlands with her new friend Meral Bontenbel. Jaya caught Meral’s eye when she visited Varanasi last year and decided to adopt her and take her along to Netherlands. Meral completed the adoption process with the help of an NGO which took a period of 6 months and she patiently got through with it. She got Jaya’s passport made, tests done and completed other legal formalities. This is not the first time an Indian street dog has been adopted internationally. Previously a stray dog named Moti was adopted by an international tourist. He took Moti to Italy and he lives there happily with a German Shepard.
