Amitabh Bachchan's Reaction To Seeing Stree 2 Actor Sunil Kumar As His Body Double In Kalki 2898 AD

Bollywood news: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 is making waves at the box office. Sunil Kumar, who played the role Sarkata, disclosed details about his role in Kalki 2898 AD.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sunil Kumar revealed that he played the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s body double as Ashwatthama in several scenes of Kalki 2898 AD. He said, “Amitabh sir ke sat 1-1.5 months shooting hui the. Ek mahina Prabhas sir ke sath."

In another interview he said, "He (Amitabh Bachchan) came up to me and asked the camera person to click a photograph. He smiled and said, 'Sabhi mere ko lambu bolte hai, aaj mujhse lamba koi mil gaya (Everyone calls me tall, but I have finally met someone taller than me)'."

Who is Sunil Kumar?

Sunil Kumar aka Sunny Jatt became a household name after playing the role of Sarkata in Stree 2. As per his Instagram handle, Sunil mostly spends his time playing volleyball and handball. He was part of the WWE Tryout in 2019. He is popularly known as the Great Khali of Jammu.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, director Amar Kaushik said that his casting team found Sunil Kumar and they finalised him based on his height and physique. The director reportedly used his body shots of Kumar, while thecae of Sarkatat was generated through CGI.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office report of the horror comedy and and wrote, “#Stree2 creates HISTORY again... Becomes the HIGHEST GROSSING #Hindi film in Week 2... Surpasses Week 2 numbers of #Baahubali2 #Hindi, #Gadar2, #Animal and #Jawan.”
