A son's final salute to his Braveheart father
Havaldar Abdul Majid who laid down his life fighting for the motherland in Rajouri encounter received the final salute from the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir BJP Chief Ravinder Raina in Poonch on November 24.
A large number of people paid last tribute to the martyr Abdul Majeed. Five soldiers, including two Army Captains, lost their lives in the firefight.
The encounter broke out between terrorists and a joint team of the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in J&K’s Rajouri.
Two terrorists, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander, were killed in a 36-hour-long gunfight with security forces on November 22 and 23. The Army informed further that it recovered large quantities of ‘War Like Stores’ from the encounter site.
When asked what he wanted to become when he grew up, the teenage son of Hav Majid said ‘An Army Officer’
