Erdogan Rips Netanyahu Over Situation In Gaza

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed the European Union on Thursday for failing to call for a cease-fire in Gaza and accused the West of indifference toward the suffering of Muslims.

"How many more children must die before the EU Commission can call for a cease-fire?" Erdogan asked while delivering a televised speech.

"How many more tons of bombs must fall on Gaza before the United Nations Security Council can take action," he added.

He accused the West of failing to see the violence unfolding in Gaza “because the blood being shed is Muslim blood.”

Erdogan said Turkey had so far dispatched 10 plane loads of humanitarian aid, including generators, destined for Gaza, to Egypt. Twenty-five medical personnel had also left for Egypt, he said.

The Turkish leader, whose country recently normalized ties with Israel, has increased the tone of his criticism of Israel’s military actions in Gaza.

On Wednesday, Erdogan described Hamas militants as a group fighting for liberation — and not a terrorist organization as it has been designated by the West.
