American-Canadian actor Jim Carrey is back in the limelight - this time for his views on politics in the US context. 'The Mask' actor said, "We have to say 'yes' to socialism- to the word and everything". He added, " We have to stop apologizing".

Carrey also said, "I grew up in Canada, okay? We have socialized medicine. I'm here to tell you that this nonsense line that you get on all of the political shows from people is that it's a failure; the system is a failure in Canada. It is not a failure in Canada." He also added, "If anything, we've got to get back to a place where we realize that a vote is not who you are. Because you voted Republican, you're not stupid. You're not different. You're not worthless. I could break bread with anybody who voted for Trump. We could find some common ground to love each other."

The 'Dumb and Dumber' actor has come out in support of Democrats, calling on the party to accept socialism.

President of the United States Donald Trump and the Republican Party have constantly attacked Democrats for apparently shielding socialism. On the show in question, host Bill Maher said that Democrats needed to "fight this slander" to which Carrey retorted "Why not go all-in instead?"

Since his remarks on the show, several Americans have tweeted against his views; demanding that 'he redistribute his own wealth' as a start.

Jim Carrey has long been opposed to the President of the United States Donald Trump who is a Republican; right from comparing him to a Nazi for his immigration policies to pleading to Trump's supporters to 'Stop doing stupid stuff'. If that's not all, Carrey also tweeted his own artwork criticizing Donald Trump; likening him to "THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST WING" (from Wizard of Oz) and also depicting "PUTIN'S FLYING MONKEYS" in the artwork.

He had also previously tweeted another picture of his own artwork titled "The Art of The Meal", a play on the title of Donald Trump's book 'The Art of The Deal'.

Socialism is a political theory operating on the idea that wealth and income must be equally distributed among people belonging to all classes. In America, socialism has been highlighted as efforts to provide Medicare to all and free college tuition i.e. sans fees. Bernie Sanders' democratic socialist campaigning in 2016 US elections made socialism a popular term among Americans, though historically, it has always been associated with communist regimes, and hence, viewed with skepticism.
