Global pressure is mounting on Pakistan in the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Pulwama as the French government has said that it will move a proposal at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to name Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.
Sources close to France have said that the country will move a proposal at the UNSC 1267 Committee to designate the Pakistani-based JeM chief as a global terrorist, a move which will be backed by India.
Republic TV has also learnt that along with France, US and UK will also support the proposal and the countries will together move the resolution at the UNSC.
This is just one of the number of embarrassment Imran Khan and his government is facing following the terrorist attack in Pulwama on February 14 - in which 40 CRPF were martyred - and the terrorist attack in Iran on February 13 - in which 27 revolutionary guard's lost their lives.
In the aftermath of the Pulwama attack, US' Ambassador to India, Kenneth Juster, said that his country will instruct Pakistan to crack down on terrorism.
Despite the JeM - a Pakistan-based terror outfit - claiming responsibility for the attack, Imran Khan and his government did not condemn the incident and remaind defiant in their stance that the terrorist organization did not have any affiliation to Pakistan.
"Indian government blamed Pakistan without evidence. What will Pakistan benefit from it, when Pakistan is at this stage. We are moving towards the process of development. We are coming above the 15 years-reign of fear where 70000 Pakistanis have been killed. Terrorism is going down, peace is coming, stability is coming. Why will we do this?", said Imran Khan in his first statement since th Pulwama attack.
Further embarrassment awaited Pakistan on Tuesday as a senior official of Iran's revolutionary guard said that the three individuals who carried out the attack on February 13 belonged to Pakistan, and the planner of the attack was also an Pakistan citizen.
While Iran has constantly hinted that Pakistan is the hub of terrorists, this was the first time when they directly blamed and named Pakistan for a terrorist attack.
