Ever wished to eat a burger which is flipped upside down? No?
Well, that is not stopping Burger King.
The US fast-food chain, partnering with streaming giant Netflix and soft drink company Coca-Cola, has launched the 'Upside down Whopper' to promote the upcoming teenage-1980s inspired-supernatural drama Stranger Things' new season which will be released on July 4.
To promote the upside turned burger, Burger King has launched a new Twitter handle called 'Stranger King'. Stranger King introduced the 'Upside Down Whopper' in typical Stranger Things fashion with the Title's alphabets flying in from all sides to form the words 'Upside Down Whopper' as the upside down burger comes into view. Fortunately, the accompanying Coke and Fries are the right side up.
These 'Upside Down Whoppers' will be sold in certain restaurants in several US cities from June 21: Miami, Houston, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles. Along with the burgers, customers will also be able to avail the limited-edition ketchup packets and t-shirts inspired by "Stranger Things."
Stranger Things, a sci-fi horror series, created, written, and directed by the Duffer Brothers revolves on the investigation by four pre-teen boys from Indiana, US and the supernaturally gifted girl 'Eleven' into an alternate dimension called "the Upside Down" after the Upside Down starts to affect the unknowing residents of Hawkins in calamitous ways. The eight episodes of the third season will be released on July 4, 2019, on Netflix.
Twitter is amused by Burger King's lazily innovative marketing strategy:
If you are wondering will it be available in India? Yes. Just turn your burger upside down.
