YOGA DAY | Watch: PM Modi's Animated Avatar Demonstrates 'Utarasana' Ahead Of International Yoga Day

  • India's PM Modi took to Twitter to spread awareness of Yoga and its benefits yet again, as he posts an animated video of himself practicing the Utarasana or the camel pose
  • Urging people to make it an integral part of their daily Yoga routine , PM Modi citied that the exercise would strengthen the back and shoulders along with improving the flexibility

With preparations for the fifth International Yoga Day due to be celebrated on June 21 is out in full swing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter yet again to post a tutorial of practising Ustrasana, spreading awareness about the benefits of the exercise.

PM Modi shared an animated video of himself performing the Ustrasana, urging people to learn the posture as it helps to strengthen the back, shoulders and improve flexibility. In the video, the Prime Minister's animated version can be seen performing the Ustrasana or the camel posture. Citing the benefits of the exercise, PM Modi said that it helps in improving flexibility while also strengthening the back and shoulders. 

Urging the citizens to make this asana an integral part of their Yoga routine, PM Modi asked them to learn this exercise along with mentioning the benefits of the same. Watch the video here: 

June 21 has been designated as World Yoga Day following PM Modi's suggestion in his address at the UN General Assembly in 2014, months after he was first elected to office. Since then, Yoga day is celebrated all around the world with massive Yoga events being organized worldwide, to mark the day. 

On June 5, Prime Minister wrote, "On June 21, we will mark Yoga Day 2019. I urge you all to make yoga an integral part of your life and also inspire others to do the same. The benefits of Yoga are tremendous."

In 2018, the Prime Minister had shared several 3D videos explaining Pawanmuktasana, Setu Bandhasana, Shalabhasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Vajrasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana among others. He also participated in a Yoga session in Argentina at last year's G20.

Carrying the trend forward in 2019, the Prime Minister has been consistent in proliferating Yoga through its Twitter handle.
